Our active calendar is fun, including our ice cream socials, Splish Splash Water Fun Day, and participation in the annual 39-Mile Yard Sale in early November. The best part? Dues are affordable for every family, making it easier for you to join. The Lake of the Hills Community is centered around beautiful Starr Lake on Central Florida's Lake Wales Ridge. Our community was founded before 1920 when the first pioneering families built homes on the lake. Our Community Center at 47 East Starr Avenue was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 24, 2000. The Community Center is a one-story stucco building constructed in 1929 on an acre of property fronting the lake. The Community Center is our community's gathering place, hosting several social events throughout the year, including covered dish dinners, meetings, monthly programs, and as a host site for the annual 39-Mile Scenic Highway Yard Sale.
